At least they have the option, Harbor Freight doesn't. Harbor Freight's largest model is Snap On's space saver model. Why is this even a thing anymore. 30 inch drawers are nothing new, I've had them for 25 years (and love them) on my 9000 series Matco box...That was before the 6S series came out. Snap on has actually been late to the game in offering 30 inch drawers.

Git you bye tools. If you have no such tool, harbor freight Pittsburgh is great. I wouldn't waste money on Icon thought. Harbor Freight for tools to put in your truck. If they get lost or stolen, just go buy more tools. But are they good tools? Hell no 🤣 You gone eventually need tool truck tools. Even the Sunex tools are better than harbor freight. The problem is Pittsburgh tools skip sizes and Icon tools are probably the same cheap chrome steel for more money. Then again any tools is better than none.

Everyone is untitled to an opinion but if that's yours, you haven't been paying attention. There have been channel after channel and mechanic testimony that show them to be solid tools. Not just mechanics, but contractors, fabricators, and maintenance guys. There are several channels that do side by side comparisons like Project Farm, Torque Test channel and Den of Tools that have the numbers to prove they have many serious tools.

If I have a job that pays $250 and I use a HF ratchet for $25, I have a profit of $225, if I use a snap on at $200 my profit is only $50... both ratchets work the same and do the same exact job. I see you didn't pass English class so I'm guessing you didn't pass math or economics either....

Bro, you're coming at Harbor Freight right now, but the first tool was a braker bar! If you want to spend $160 on a snapon breaker bar, be my guess, but that pittsburgh braker bar is $20. I could use and break 8 of those before I spend the equivalent of the snapon.

$200 chinese snap on tool is no better than a $20 chinese harbor freight tool. Milwaukee and HF/Hercules cordless batteries use the exact same samsung batteries (likely manufactured in same factory along with makita, dewalt, etc.) Pittsburg tools have same lifetime warranty as more expensive brands

My snapon toolbox lists for 13.5k on the website😂😂😂😂😂 i paid just umder 5k bran stinkin new! If you make it to your house, might be time to retire. Let's say Jimmy did without most of his life and ran into some money. He goes out and buy a new tool box, all new tools, a welder and everything he never had and thought he needed. A few months later he realized it's all a huge mistake! Now he has all new tools, but cannot program modules. So he buys a J2534. It bricks a new module and won't work on another car. So he buys a new Windows Laptop a rugged one for $3000, Jimmy still wants to flash program modules, he buy one of those $3500 RAP suitcases, and a subscription! Another problem arises. They don't support flashing used modules and only certain cars. Another programming failure. You think Jimmy would give up, and he can't even program a key fob! So he buys rhe latest Autel key programmer for $4500, plus an Alldata subscription. First car he gets it don't work on this particular car and it's a Mercedes and Alldaddy don't have shit on it😳 Now Jimmy has all this stuff and a customer calls... I need my oil changed. How much do you charge? CLICK! Maybe Jummy should have opened a QucikLube, or a pawn shop! Could have with all the money he spent! Or he could have kept the money and got a job cutting lawns or mopping somebody's floors, it pays more than the dealerships and zero tool bills! By this time Jimmy is sick of working on cars anyway. In 8 more years, there won't be anything left to work on anyway. It's all overpriced disposable junk! A two chicken box and drink is 14.99 and gas is headed toward $10 per gallon. Mechanics make about the same as McDonald's or Walmart workers. Hell Kroger is in the Union now! The Mechanics wages are stuck in 1985! With zero benefits and no retirement. If Jimmy worked for those lonewolf independent shop owners for too long, he won't even get any social security. They didn't send anything in- now they dead and there's nothing you can do about it. Today, information is worth more than the entire Snap-on truck full of tools. But I can tell you something worth more than information and tools combined. Cash money!

It's literally a box to put your tools in. The box shown is $10,000. For a fucking box to put your tools in. $10,000 for a 73x24 tool box. Or I could go to Harbor Freight and buy 2x 72x22 tool boxes for $1700 each. The SO box is 668lbs vs HF box at 490lbs. So the SO might be more durable if you like to ram into your box with vehicles, but I think the HF will probably do fine.

Together, they are $4K before discounts - BUT if you can stack a 15% with the 10% discount for the credit card, it should be somewhere around $3200 ish? A lot will say “But you didn’t buy American!” Well ya, and you saved enough for four or five different setups with endless combos!” And the quality really is impressive regardless of it being a Chinese export. I changed over a few years ago starting with a simple five drawer US General cart that Im now currently modifying into a fifteen draw roller and with an additional side cabinet that’ll total 22 drawers! The first cart was dumb luck finding it stacked next to a dumpster behind Harbor Freight being tossed due to the bottom pan being dented during shipping. From there I bought one new almost half off on a sale and after watching a vid I modified it to a ten draw stack. Now I’m incorporating another one into it soon, it’s a marketplace find to make the fifteen drawer total then I’ll re-ad the side box to make it 22!) So many great ideas on mods on the tube that you really can’t go wrong and get to build the box just right for you. Kinda like playing with legos and you really can’t tell the box didn’t come like this. Anyway I think you did the right thing upgrading and you saved a ton too because the snap on resale may not be the huge bucks you spent originally, but you’ll definitely have a nice chunk of change left over reselling to roll into future tools and/or project stock so it’s a win win. Good luck brother, thanks for taking us along😉 👍🏼👍🏼from this guy & I just subbed up! Almost forgot, this modified chest cost me $305.00 total!

Excellent video! Couple of things I would suggest to round out this kit would be: a set of punches/chisels, some torx sockets (I know they are kind of a 'specialty' tool, but they are found on a lot of cars now a days), good penetrating fluid, and a potent work light (I know you showed a pen light). Otherwise - phenomenal video!

    • @RIDEONDIRT14
